Elie Bleu Cutters

You know Elie Bleu for the cachet of its high-end humidors, but you mustn’t ignore the allure of its more affordable accessories like the EBC-4 cigar cutters. These double-guillotine devices come in a range of eye-catching colors and provide quality materials, ease of use and, most importantly, consistent precision cuts.

Measuring 2.56 inches tall, 1.75 inches wide and .31 inches thick, the EBC-4 feels sturdy and balanced in the hand, constructed with two Japanese, surgical-grade, stainless steel blades. The top blade sits on a spring-loaded section that leaps up at the press of a button on the lower portion of the tool.

To operate the EBC-4 you simply place the cap of your cigar between the two blades and gently press downward. The top blade glides down on a track, slicing the tobacco. A large opening between the blades enables the EBC-4 to cut cigars up to 62 ring gauge.

EBC-4 comes in five core versions: Red (pictured here, right), Black, Blue and Yellow Lacquer, as well as an all-metal version called Brushed Chrome (bottom left). These models are all priced at $210. In addition, special lacquer editions featuring different visual motifs are also available, including one representing the Cuban Flag (middle), another called Flor de Alba, offered in Black, Blue (second from right) and Red Lacquer, and a third named Casa Cubana, available in Yellow (top left) and Blue Lacquer.

Flor de Alba’s design calls to mind vintage lithography and the ornamentation of traditional Cuban cigar boxes. The Casa Cubana displays buildings, streets and scenery from Havana.

While Cuban Flag and Flor de Alba are regular-production cutters, only 918 Casa Cubana EBC-4 cutters will be released—459 numbered pieces in Blue Lacquer and 459 in Yellow Lacquer. Cuban Flag, Flor de Alba and Casa Cubana are all priced at $230.
