The new H. Upmann The Banker Daytrader from Altadis U.S.A. further plays on the financial theme of the storied H. Upmann brand, which has ties to the banking industry. Cigar Insider has tested the entire line in a vertical brand tasting, and out of its three sizes, one excelled. The brand is made in the Dominican Republic. We also look at Avo’s autumnal release of the Seasons figurado, as well as Quinquagenario, a new (and hard to pronounce) collaboration between RoMa Craft Tobac and E.P. Carrillo Cigar Co. Insider reviewed the new Corona size added to New World Dorado, a line of Nicaraguan smokes, as well as El Pulpo’s twisty new Culebra and a pair of additions to Charter Oak from Foundation Cigar Co. These cigars feature wrappers grown in the Connecticut River Valley and are a tribute to the grandfathers of brand owner Nick Melillo. From Cuba, a Regional Edition Juan Lopez named after a fancy soccer move was made just for Qatar. It’s a beefy smoke the same size as the Cuban Partagás Serie E No. 2.
