Estades Re-Elected To Chairman Role At Cigar Association Of America
Javier Estades, president and CEO of Tabacalera USA, was re-elected as chairman of the Cigar Association of America at the organization’s annual meeting, held earlier this month in Palm Beach, Florida.
“Chairman Estades has been a leader in advancing public policy for the cigar industry at the federal, state and local levels,” said CAA president David Ozgo. “He helped guide us to significant victories on a number of critical issues, which his peers recognized by re-electing him for another term as chairman. I personally appreciate his partnership, guidance and support.”
Estades said: “I am excited to continue as chairman of CAA, and proud of all the big wins we have achieved for the cigar industry. We still have challenges ahead, but CAA is ready to continue fighting against improper, overreaching efforts by FDA and state and local governments.”
Estades has been a part of the American cigar industry since 2011, and was first elected to the role as CAA chairman in 2015. The organization includes a wide range of cigar companies, including many who make premium cigars. The roots of the organization are more than 100 years old. Today, it is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
