Romeo y Julieta Cupidos Arrive In Germany
The Romeo y Julieta Cupidos, a fat, Cuban belicoso made exclusively for Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialists stores, has been launched in Germany. Like many new Cuban cigars, the Cupidos got a premiere party. It was held this past weekend at Bückeburg Castle in Bückeburg, Germany, where 250 people got a preview of the cigar, which is expected to go on sale today.
The Romeo y Julieta Cupidos is a considerably fat Cuban, a size known in Cuban factories as Veronas that measures 5 7/8 inches by 55 ring gauge. The cigars come in glossy, 20-count boxes that are more decorative than typical Romeo dress-box packaging. Like many other new cigars, particularly Cuban ones, the cigars are fairly expensive. In Germany, the suggested retail price is 65 euros (about $70) per cigar, or 1,300 euros for the entire box, which works out to around $1,395.
Worldwide Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A. first announced the Cupidos in March at the Habanos Festival. Now that it’s been launched in Germany, the Cupidos should start appearing in other markets throughout the world, within the coming weeks.
