PDR’s Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary Line Heads To Retailers
Whether the number is even or odd, cigarmakers like to celebrate anniversaries with commemorative smokes, and PDR Cigars is no different. Brand owner Abe Flores celebrates his 18th year in the business with the Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary, which is shipping to retailers now.
The blend for 18th Anniversary is a twist on PDR’s 10th Anniversary cigar. The Ecuador Habano wrapper of the 10th was replaced with a dark Ecuador Sumatra maduro leaf. According to Flores, the Sumatra wrapper increases the strength but also provides a creamier, sweeter smoke. The interior tobaccos, however, are the same: Dominican Olor binder with a filler combination of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan tobacco from Jalapa.
The Flores y Rodriguez 18th Anniversary line comes in five sizes: Millefleurs Corona, measuring 5 inches by 42 ring gauge ($5.71); Robusto, 5 by 52 ($13.24); Wide Churchill, 5 1/8 by 58 ($14.71); Grand Toro, 6 by 54 ($16.18); and the double-tapered Figurado, 6 1/2 by 52 ($17.65). All sizes are packaged in boxes of 24.
The Flores y Rodriguez brand is produced at the PDR factory in the Dominican Republic.
