New Partagás Aliados Made Just for Casas del Habano And Habanos Specialists
There’s a new Partagás size from Cuba and it's starting to show up in cigar shops around the world—but not just any cigar shops. The Partagás Aliados is a unique format made exclusively for La Casa del Habano franchise shops and Habanos Specialists, retail designations appointed by worldwide Cuban cigar distributor Habanos S.A.
Packaged in ornate boxes of 20, the Partagás Aliados measures 6 5/8 inches long by 45 ring gauge, a new size referred to as Delioros in Cuban cigar factories. The secondary band on each cigar indicates their status as a Casa and Habanos Specialist exclusive.
The cigar has been reaching global markets at a staggered pace. Spain began selling the Partagás Aliados in May, where it retails for 50 euros each (about $54), or 1,000 euros per box. Switzerland’s Casas del Habano received their allotment on June 6. The Habanos Specialists in Switzerland won’t have them until tomorrow. In either location, the suggested retail price is 50 Swiss francs per cigar (roughly $55), or 1,000 Swiss francs for the box. The new cigar is also on sale in Germany, where it retails for 41.80 Euros (about $45) and the United Kingdom, at £55.60 or around $70. In Hong Kong, the Aliados goes for HK$738, or $94.20 each.
This release, which was on display at the Habanos Festival trade show held earlier this year, follows the debut of other shop-exclusives such as the Juan Lopez Selección Especial and the La Gloria Cubana Glorias, but there’s no sign of other Casa and Specialist exclusives such as the Montecristo Herederos and Cohiba Novedosos, both of which were announced by Habanos years ago.
