A Cuban Por Larrañaga Just For France
Tobacconists in Paris and other French cities have a new Cuban Regional Edition cigar to put on their shelves, and it’s a large one. Made exclusively for France, the Por Larrañaga Prometidos measures 5 1/2 inches long by 54 ring gauge and comes in boxes of 10.
The size (known as Duke in Cuban cigar factories) has the same dimensions as other smokes such as the Romeo y Julieta Duke Edición Limitada 2009 and the Punch Duke, a Regional Edition made for Mexico.
Though technically earmarked for a 2021 release, the Por Larrañaga Prometidos is a few years late to the market. It retails for 28.50 euros each (about $30.50) or 285 euros per box, which works out to around $305. Only 20,000 boxes are being produced.
This release follows other Regional Edition cigars made just for France, such as the El Rey del Mundo L’Epoque, which came out last year, and the Quai d’Orsay Clemenceau the year before.
Like all Cuban cigars sold in France, the Por Larrañaga Prometidos are distributed by Coprova, the country’s official Habanos importer and distributor.
